Main Masters
Masters | Particulars |
Item Master | Lists of materials dealt in an enterprise along with various details specific to that item. These details are used to capture the information about the item in terms if its nature, classification, tax and duty related information, pricing and commercial information etc.Please refer to the section on Item Master for further details |
Item - Stores | GoodBooks Item Master is a central repository of all types of item. Enterprises having multiple businesses and braches and which are having different types of materials need to create all of them using the item master option.However, each of the branch, division and even warehouse may use only a subset of the total item list. The applicable items for a particular entity can be selected using the item vs company option.The setting can be done for Company, Branch , division and Store. Material Information relevant to a particular store (which is different from the information given in the item master) can also be specified.This option gives the list of items applicable only during transaction. |
Sub-Masters & Common Masters

Item Category /Sub Category | Classification of items based on the characteristics of the item. As the range of items is huge, classification may have to be done in multiple levels.Categorization is one such classification. | Stores |
Item Group | Grouping of items based on some characteristics. | Stores |
Item Price Category | Classification of items based on the commercial terms of an item. This is applicable mainly in sectors where commercial terms like credit period, credit limit etc are fixed based on set of items. | Stores |
UOM | Units of Measurement for items. GoodBooks supports multiple or single level of units of measurement, like Nos, KGS etcSee also Item Vs UOM | Stores |
Brand | List of Brands that are being dealt with. This can be enterprise own or vendor brands. Brand wise analysis of items is important in various enterprises. | Stores |
