Pay Period

Path: HRMS > Master > Payroll Settings > Pay period To process the salary every month, we need to define the number of working days, attendance type, Overtime type, and payroll configuration, etc. So the Pay Period screen can be used to create the pay period and define the pay period details.    
  1. Period: The period in which the salary process is going to be created is selected here. If the salary process is created for the year 2020-2021, then the period is 2020-2021.
  2. Pay Configuration: The Pay configuration is already created in the Payroll Setting Master. Select the required Pay Configuration from the picklist.
  3. Pay Period Code: The code is used to define the name in a simpler way. If the Pay Period name is August 2021, then the code is AUG21.
  4. Pay Period Name: If the Pay Period is created for august, 2021 then the Pay Period name is August 2021.
  5. Display Name: Enter the name that will be used as a display name for this pay period. If you don't want to show the Pay Period name, use the display name instead.
  6. From Date: Start date for this pay period. Ex. 01/August/2021.
  7. To Date: End date for this pay period. Ex. 31/August/2021
  8. Total Days: Enter the total number of days present in the pay period. For August 2021- 31 Days.
  9. Pay Date: Enter the date when the salary will be processed during this pay period.
  10. Period Type: Select the Pay Period type from the picklist. 
  • Regular- relates to a normal working day,
  • Arrears- for any outstanding dues,
  • Bonus- for bonuses awarded and
  • Costing- for the costs incurred.

11. Attendance Type: The attendance type can be divided into different categories depends on the employee attendance.

  • Daily-If the employee attendance is accounted for each day
  • Monthly-which is summarized every month, or
  • Service-which can be chosen if Costing is selected as the Period type.

12. Over Time Type: The type of Over Time calculated during this pay period will be selected here.

  • Daily and monthly-where the extra hours put in by the employee can be acknowledged on either a daily or monthly basis.

13. Working Days: Enter the total number of working days during this pay period. If the Pay Period is August 2021, then the total working days will be 26 days (excluding Sundays).

14. Account Date: Enter the Account date for this pay period. In the Account Date, the date when the pay was accounted for by the organization should be specified.

Remarks regarding this field can be added if necessary.

15. Is Payroll2TaxPost: Select the appropriate radio buttons.

17. Work OU: The Work OU where the Pay Period is going to be used is selected here.

18. Is Visible: Select the check box if required.
