Item Master – Sales

Item Master - Sales Item Details in relation to Sales department/activity, are captured in this tab. Salable Item? Can this item be sold?  Marking this as Yes will allow this item to be available for booking order, dispatch and billing.   Items which are not to be sold, should be marked as no.  Free Applicable? Can this item be sold/given Free of cost (FOC)?  In several scenario, items are given free of cost to customers due to various reasons.  However some of the items will never be given free.  Setting this fields as NO will ensure that this item can not be given free. Rate Type  Rates for an item can be set as price list basis (separate price list  needs to be created) or on variable pricing basis. GoodBooks supports multiple types of pricing policy viz.,
  • Pricelist based         (eg. Dealer Price, Retail Price,  Export Price etc)
  • Variable Pricing
The variable pricing has options of
  1. Item-Party Based
  2. Item Master
  3. Open Pricing
Please see section on Item Pricing for more details on price list Pricing for  Normally, each item will have its own pricing.   However there are scenarios where price are  either same for set of items or calculated based on price of another item.  Goodbooks supports the following options viz.,
  • Item
  • Group
  • Formula
  • Link
Item is the default.    For more detail on this refer to section Item Pricing
Pricing Reference   While selecting the price for (above) as   Group, Formula or Linked , the reference price list item needs to be entered.  For the Item Level , this need not be specified. For more detail on this refer to section Item Pricing
MRP Rate  (Maximum Retail Price)  Specify the maximum retail price of the item Sales Rate   The rate at which items will be sold.   This is the master price. Please note that in the case of  price list or Item-Party pricing, the specific rate given for the price list etc will be taken. Sales Rate   (Inclusive) The selling rate inclusive of all taxes at which items will be sold.   This is the master price. Discount Applicable? While selling an item, some times discounts may be offered from time to time or for selected customer.  This may be locked for certain items.  Specifying NO for an item will disable the facility to give discount to that item Max.Discount % The maximum discount percentage (%) that may be given for an item can be specified.
