Item Master – Classification

The classification tab of the item master helps you to classify items in a variety of ways based on your requirement. There are fields for entering the category, group, brand, price category, etc. All these fields help you to ultimately give background information about the respective item. im-c   Fields & its description:
  • Type
The item type is defined by the user. In this field, you must select the type of item from the pick list. Item type can be for E.g. Spares, raw materials, consumables, etc.
  • Category
Select a category from this field. The item will belong to a certain category. E.g. Snacks, tyres, etc.
  • Group
Group field can be used if the item requires grouping. Select any group from the pick list according to the item. Grouping items depends solely on your organization's requirements.
  • Brand
Select the brand to which the item belongs. This field should contain all the brands used by your organization.
  • Sub Category
If a category is not sufficient to distinguish the item then select a sub category. Select the sub category from this pick list. E.g. Tyres can be sub categorized into tubular or tubeless.
  • Model
Select the model of the item from this pick list. Based on the item, specify any model.
  • Material Account

  1.  To add an item, go to the name or code field, enter the data and click on the save button.
  2. To add other entries, go to the master menu of that field and enter the data.
  3. This saves the value and the next time you click on the pick list, that entry shall be stored. Follow the same procedure for the other fields. [/expand]

  1. This is similar to adding an entry, follow the same steps. But instead of typing a new entry, select the stored entry and edit.
  2. After the editing is done, click on the update button.[/expand]

  1. To delete the whole item classification details of an employee, select the item. Click on the delete button.[/expand]
