Add on fields

Add on fields are custom fields that are created based on a specialized requirement of your organization. You can configure the add on fields as you require like data type, size, value list, etc. E.g. In the screenshot below, pay revision add ons have been created for the payroll module. You can provide your own definitions like Basic, Mallowance, etc as shown. This is a powerful feature of GoodBooks giving you rights to create your own fields.

Fields & its description:

  • Module

Select the module where the Add on field is to be created. E.g. Payroll

  • Entity

Choose the target screen for which the Add on field is to be added. E.g. Monthly Attendance Add on

  • HBM Generate

This button should be used after you have finished with the grid values. So this is the final step in this screen. Hibernate Mapping files will create an XML version of the your entity along with your created Add on field details. Clicking on this button will generate the data into file.

  • Field Name

Enter the name of the Add on field here. E.g. My Custom Field

  • Description

Type a short description of the Add on field here for your understanding.

  • DataType

Based on the input to be received by the Add on field select a data type, Int – Used for medium sized integers, String – input for characters, Long – for longer range numbers, DateTime – accepts time and date format, Double – decimal numbers can be used, Int16 – larger than bytes but smaller than int, Byte – smallest of the integer values.

  • Size

This is the size allowed for the datatype you have just defined. Enter an acceptable numeric value.

  • Type of Info

This is for your reference, select the type of info in this field. Choose Entry if this is a conventional input. Formula if this input has symbols, numbers and other characters. List of values for fields supporting a list of values. Multiple if this allows multiple inputs. Standard List for predefined standard list values. File Selection for supporting file import/exports.

  • LovType

Enter the lovtype if your previous field was chosen as a list type otherwise select None.

You can also choose to sort the grid to order the rows by entering the number in sort order.
